NEW YORK, NY ● Ryan Lochte is really lapping up all of the opportunities that his Olympic fame has brought him.
The swimming phenomenon – who racked up five medals at the 2012 Olympic games in London – is continuing his media blitz with a cameo on the NBC sitcom “30 Rock.”
An NBC spokeswoman told that he will appear on the show but was unable to say when Lochte’s episode would air or how his cameo would fit into the plot.
Lochte’s “30 Rock” appearance is the latest in a multitude of media drop-ins, including an upcoming appearance on the CW’s “90210,” on which he’ll play a guest at a resort where Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max Miller (Josh Zuckerman) are staying in an effort to strengthen their relationship. (The “90210” appearance will run Oct. 29.)
Lochte, 28, has expressed an interest in diving into reality TV, saying that he’d like to appear on “Dancing With the Stars” or “The Bachelor.”
● Olympic gymnast Danell Leyva could be flipping to Broadway.
The American bronze medalist from the London Games was so taken with the dangerous flying stunts when he was recently in the audience of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” we’re told he expressed interest in joining the show. “He has designs on one of the nine Spidey roles who do the bulk of the swinging around the theater,” says a production source.
And apparently, “The ladies of ‘Spider-Man’ are drooling at the possibility.” Reps for the hit show at the Foxwoods Theatre on 42nd Street, which features music by U2’s Bono and The Edge, like the idea, telling, “The producers are excited about the idea of Danell joining the show.”
